"Every second of every day you are faced with a life-changing decision. The difference between life and death can be decided in a split second" (IMDb). Run Lola Run is an excellent 80-minute German film written/directed by Tom Tykwer and edited by Mathilde Bonnefoy that has a four-part "What if" style genre. The film pulses with kinetic energy mixed with a case of Monster Energy Drink. It's so fast-paced that it's like an unstable roller coaster at every turn. Run Lola Run will capture your mind and spirit with beautiful, free flashes of anticipation, panic, passion, desperation, hesitation, fear and fervor that, when put together, are quite invigorating and will greatly exhaust its viewers. The formula that editor Mathilde Bonnefoy uses to handle the complex rhythms of this film not only dazzles viewers with pace, but also maintains broad focus on what Lola is doing and why she is doing it. Among other things, editing is what determines the length of a shot. Therefore, it completely controls the period of time in which you can look at each image and integrate the information into it. In Run Lola Run Mathilde Bonnefoy demonstrates that experimentation and editing do not have to be formulaic. He handles the editor's traditional duties of fixing the length and frequency of shots, thus controlling the film's emphasis on one person, place, or device with such a sense of pride that the film becomes more about the editing than the actual narrative and own. The opening sequence, for example, shows Lola (Franka Potente) receiving a phone call from her boyfriend, Manni (Moritz Bleibtreu), asking her to help him in a dire situation, in the importance of paying back $100,000 a day... .. half of the paper...... (Tykwer). In conclusion, Run Lola Run is an excellent film that incorporates phenomenal editing and music. If a viewer was not dazzled by this film, he would be very surprised because it is very gripping and breathtaking. The formula that editor Mathilde Bonnefoy uses to handle the complex rhythms of this film will not only wow viewers with pacing, but will also keep a broad focus on what Lola is doing, why she is doing it, and what is important happening in the film . .Works Cited IMDb.
