Bodybuilding can be defined as the shaping of the human body into a fully enhanced potential, developing muscles to incredible sizes and proportioning each part of the body through and evolution, which creates a body art. This sport was introduced in the early 1890s as entertainment for the public; as a sport it was not perceived seriously since no bodybuilder at the time had a large size difference compared to normal humans. The sport has not been taken critically due to the lack of knowledge about weight training and diet. In the 1890s the main focus in bodybuilding competitions was based primarily on strength, which of all the competitors possessed the most extreme strength. As society evolved over the years, bodybuilding was also emerging with the knowledge, technology and awareness of this particular sport. The judges of the sport had to be stricter in terms of evaluating each competitor. Qualities such as symmetry and aesthetics were essential traits that every bodybuilder had to present. The winner was determined by adding the scores for symmetry and aesthetics, and the bodybuilder who had the most striking size and proportions would most likely be the champion. The way the bodybuilder posed and presented also determined the winning candidate. In years gone by, the bodybuilder became a sensation for various social groups, as bodybuilders were becoming larger in size and had distinct, unnoticeable bodies. Bodybuilding began to grow as a culture, as another trend that made an impact in the eyes of society; bodybuilding was emerging in the fitness industry.
