The Effect of Changing Tastes on McDonaldsThere are approximately 40 million Americans considered obese. We live in a world where everything is almost instantaneous. We can go to a window and get a quick, hot meal in less than 3 minutes. Everything is fast. These are the golden years of McDonald's. But sometimes going too fast isn't good. Customers are now replacing healthy food with a quick and economical meal; a healthy diet, accompanied by healthy habits, can change our lives. These changes are great for our world, but they are hurting McDonald's profits. Consumer tastes and preferences are changing and the [fast food] industry must be able to adapt to them. There is a huge opportunity to develop new products that cater to the health-conscious customer. To be more specific, they need to develop new products that appeal to young, health-conscious women. As consumer tastes are changing, there is an opportunity to develop new, healthier product lines that cater to consumers' new tastes that cater to their tastes.
