These two functions of education have shaped my identity. Through socialization, I learned many social norms (learning attitudes, moral values, and behaviors) through interactions with my teachers and peers. I learned to respect and appreciate my teachers, my friends and myself. Not only that, the most important thing I have learned that has made me a successful person is meeting the deadline. Furthermore, I also learned “soft skills” (Manza 417). In Steve Job's case, his body odor was the reason that kept him from being successful if he was unable to create his own company; I learned that keeping my appearance neat and clean was also important to being socially acceptable. Socialization is very important in my life because it helps me understand that I need to surround myself with people who support my decision and continually expand my circle of acquaintances. Overall, my high school past had done well in preparing me and my friends for our future. All of the faculties not only guided us towards the career we want in our future, but also helped us earn our first major credential: a high school diploma, and also shaped us to be who we are today. I gained the intellectual skills I needed to be able to graduate from high school and be able to go to college to become a pharmacist. I have learned that having credentials is important for my future
