Attempts to take advantage of constitutional rights can be seen by the defendant to benefit himself and by the prosecution to benefit the system. For example, Theodore Crawford used the Fourth and Sixth Amendments to his advantage as he not only cleverly hid the murder weapon in plain sight, but also used the prosecution's testimony to give himself an advantage in the trial. A few hours before the crime occurred, Mr. Crawford followed his wife and Detective Nunally where they were going to continue their affair, and exchanged his gun with the detective's, both of whom had the exact same gun. This required impeccable planning and execution on Crawford's part, suggesting that his course of action was completely premeditated and that he had been planning his crime for a good portion of the time.
