In current times we have transformed our means of accessing information by having the ability to immediately find any information on the Internet. However, are people interested in using this tool to educate themselves on current world issues? In our fast-paced societies, the emphasis on economic success has made us forget the importance of the environment, the root of our existence. To date, humans have deforested, polluted the land, air and water and caused global warming leading to the extinction of key environmental species. Although environmental education is slowly spreading, not many are aware of the terrible conditions our environment is in. To address the issue, some authors such as Jared Diamond and Verlyn Klinkenborg have also set themselves the goal of educating readers on environmental problems through short articles. Before we can start brainstorming and interacting differently with the environment to solve our problems, we all need to be educated on the topic. Presenting depressing facts regarding society's undesirable present and future will create the awareness needed to make changes to save our world. The aim of the article is to make the public reflect on the future potential of their nation by analyzing environmental and social aspects.
