A true volunteer does it because he sees a need and wants to help. However, as an added benefit, it could greatly boost your career prospects. The type of work you decide to do is as varied as anything else out there. You could volunteer at home, in your neighborhood or in the city. You may decide to volunteer with the elderly or homeless.
