The study concludes the steps to perform the test and presents weld quality results and quantifies a technique to determine the weld strength of the fusion zone. The literature review indicated that most of the authors worked on sheet metal blanking and resistance spot welding of various metals. Studies on resistance spot welding of brass sheets are scarce. The authors agree that the main problem of resistance spot welding of brass sheet is due to its high electrical conductivity which in turn requires a high current to reach the heat needed to form the weld core. The main objective of this project was to investigate the influence of the blade and clearance on the workpiece material and the parameters influencing resistance spot welding such as heat transfer from the electrodes to the sheet-to-sheet interface, the current requirement for obtain the heat necessary to form the weld core and the influence of the clamping force on the welding of the sheet metal.
