All over the world, America is called the land of opportunity, a place where opportunities are unlimited, but are the so-called unlimited opportunities available and equal to all? For years Affirmative Action has tried to level the playing field, but its Black workers are still oppressed. It is evident that affirmative action is ineffective with the differences in the number of employed blacks compared to whites and their difficulties obtaining and keeping a job, the repetition of blacks in society has been tarnished due to stereotypes, and blacks face hidden discrimination. Across America, people are losing their jobs and struggling to trust another. Compared to the white population, blacks have substantially greater difficulty finding work. The unemployment rate for blacks is double that of whites. If the number of job opportunities is equal for blacks and whites, then why is there such a huge gap between the two? How can Affirmative Action be seen as an effective means of equalizing the chances of whites and blacks finding work when they are light years away from being even remotely close to each other? As time passes, the gap between the two only grows wider and wider as more and more blacks lose their jobs and the unemployment rate rises. Across the country, Black people struggle to find decent work, and many remain out of work day after day, year after year. For black people it is necessary to work well whether you have a college education and meet all the criteria for a job or not. As unemployment rates rise, black unemployment rates rise faster than whites, blacks are fired from jobs more frequently than whites. How could this happen if Affirmative Action did what it was supposed to do? Affirmative Action has proven ineffective in the middle of the paper…responsible sources.
